Are You Sleep Walking?

Are You Sleep Walking?
Written by Steven Griggs |thefreedomcoach.com

Without change, something sleeps inside us, and seldom awakens. The sleeper must awaken.
Frank Herbert

Are you a sleep walker? Are you drifting along through life in a very comfortable haze? We all do it, it is a mechanism that our conscious (and unconscious) mind uses to maintain its comfort level, staying within our living thermostat settings.

This could be a very chaotic and stress filled daily life or a very serene and calm life or even
being homeless, living under a bridge.Whatever it is, we stay within our thermostat settings and find a living rhythm and this becomes comfortable.

For some this is their life, it works and they can drift through life in a state of ignorant bliss. I don't say that in a judging way, but merely that ignorance is bliss. No questioning, no seeking, no searching for the deeper answers. Easier, simpler, automatic.

But if you can't drift blissfully along and know there is more, you must awaken. That is the beginning, you find some awareness and then some more and you can never go back.

Being awake has its burdens, all the old things that were important become less so. You start to look harder at what you are doing with your time on this planet. Are you truly happy? Are you fulfilled? Have you found and followed your true life's purpose?

This puts you on a new path. If you are reading this you know what I'm talking about.

Once you get a peek under the kimono, you can't stop looking.

The End of Anonymity?

| The Freedom Coach

The End of Anonymity
Written by Steven Griggs |thefreedomcoach.com

“We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us. The old skin has to be shed before the new one can come” Joseph Campbell

As we’ve all seen from the recent “Arab Spring or Spring Revolution” in the middle east, the world has become a very connected place. There are no secrets anymore and the people can no longer be kept in the dark. Smart phone cameras record and upload to the net in minutes. And immediately the entire world knows….

Throughout the ages one of the major tools of control used by kings and despots alike has been to keep the people ignorant and satisfied. Only a false sense of choice existed. Your life’s path was cast in stone from birth as it had been for hundreds of generations.

Soon, oppressed people everywhere will throw off their yokes, maybe not immediately but soon. The day of the dictator is over.

But there is another side to this story. For example, did you see the “Kissing Couple" in Canada (a couple lying down on the pavement kissing, in between a raging riot and the police)? No one knew who this couple was, yet within hours, their names were revealed and spread throughout the net. They were soon broadcast on network TV.

There are many recent cases of bloggers hiding behind a false identity, sending out harmful and incorrect information as if they were part of an intricate dis-information campaign. Many have been identified and then exposed by people researching their identities and motives.

Inquiries were sent out through Twitter, Facebook, and other social media sites seeking information. In these cases the social networks acted more like a giant informant as people also responded with information. By piecing together fragments of info and in some cases a lack of info, the researchers were able to figure out who these parties really were and in some cases who sponsored them. For example in the case of “ A Gay Girl In Damascus”. The “girl” was unmasked as a male graduate student from Scotland.

Is this a good thing? Is the web creating more honesty in the world or is it laying the groundwork for governments in the future to seek out and silence freedom lovers?

It is natural for everyone to voice their opinions especially in today's web world, however is it being used against us? Are we setting the stage for change or separation? Is it possible to pollute or sensor the web with filtered or "approved" information?

"Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth" – Oscar Wilde

Is this the beginning of “1984”? Stay tuned.
